The master plan for the McKibbon Historic Bledsoe County Jail stemmed from the client’s desire to preserve Bledsoe history while introducing a modern, revenue-generating use for the site. By maintaining the building’s architectural character from 1851 and incorporating thoughtful design, the project can offers unique visitor experience rooted in the town’s history. The plan includes a twelve parking spaces on the south side. A large backyard space and deck will provide views of the hills along the east side of the property. Around the back of the home, a stone walkway provides access to the rear of the home to be lined with lush green plantings to buffer the edge of the house. Large shade trees, evergreen shrubs, and seasonal color plantings around the property help integrate the home into its natural surroundings.
